Ensure product flow is optimized by reducing WIP and improving productivity.

Support implementation of corrective actions to solve production/quality issues.

Develop effective systems to control usage and reduce scrap in the process.

Support various divisions and functional leaders in special requests as needs arise.

Generates risk assessment, engineering requirements, cost estimates, schedules and works with manufacturing to implement new product development projects.

Review paint inspection and repair reports to evaluate efficiency and quality.

Review technical drawings and other reference materials to select and recommend new supplies and methods to improve coating operations.

Responsible for resource planning including project/work order materials availability, PPE and work permits.

Accountability for Batesville Casket Company deployment metrics- safety, lost cycles and order fill rate.

Responsible for root cause and countermeasure analysis.

Responsible for all engineering activities related to the preparation, application and curing of products.

Review inspection and repair reports to evaluate efficiency and quality.

Ensure environmental controls are met and maintained.

Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience Required
- Bachelors degree from an accredited four year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year minimum related experience and/or training.
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required.
- Previous manufacturing experience with paint application to metal
- Experience in JD Edwards and Statistical software
- Ability to train/manage/lead/understand LEAN or CI activities and initiatives
