Position Summary
Safely drive and operate tractor trailer combination within 48 states and Canada. Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures to transport products in a safe, timely, and courteous manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Operate tractor trailer combinations safely and efficiently
- Make on time deliveries
- Maintain hours of service status and all shipping documentation
- Read and understand maps in order to maneuver around the country
- Help load and unload caskets
- Other duties may be assigned
Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Skills
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions.
- Ability to use a desktop computer to review and be tested on safety videos
- Ability to use electric onboard recorder (EOBR) and/or paper log systems to maintain hours of service status is preferred
- Other duties may be assigned
Experience
- Complete understanding of DOT rules and regulations
- Excellent safety record
- Must be 23 years of age or older
- Ability to enter Canada and return with no restrictions due to criminal history or personal status with valid passport or passport card
- Clean MVR/CSA Score
- 3 years OTR experience
- Class A Comercial Driver's License with Doubles and HAZMAT Endorsements
Travel
Travel is not required outside of the normal driving responsibilities of this position.

Manually align Convert Dolly to trailer
- Push/Pull 110+ lbs
Release pin on trailer axles to reposition
- Lift lever 45 lbs
Open a hood of Class A tractor to check engine
- Pull 50 lbs New Model
- Pull 70 lbs Older Model
When unloading trailers, it requires pushing/pulling caskets on the rails with a force of 30-80 lbs. Pulling a casket out of belly requires 75-132 lbs force. Moving a casket on the top shelf requires reaching above shoulder height.
The employee must also pass DOT physicals, including vision requirements and random drug and alcohol screenings.
