Position Summary
This position is responsible for the financial reporting process, including summarizing, analyzing, and reporting financial results and key financial metrics for internal and external purposes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Oversee the preparation and completion of all accounting entries and financial reporting requirements by performing a general review.
- Ensure standard journal entry checklist is followed, perform general review of journal entries, and perform a general review of all month-end account reconciliations.
- Maintain a high standard of excellence for internal and external reporting in terms of accuracy and on-time execution.
- Significant involvement in improving overall processes and procedures for the finance department, including appropriate internal controls.
- Managing the company-wide month-end financial results and related reporting. This includes the company's income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, preparation of external financial reporting with the appropriate reconciliations between the internal and external reporting.
- Manages the monthly closing process, including integrity and accuracy of the financial statements, monthly financial reporting package, general ledger, all related accounts within the company's trial balance, and appropriate review and analysis of foreign reporting and translations in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage the deliverables and associated timelines required for external and internal reporting requirements. This includes follow-up with responsible parties when deliverables are late or inaccurate.
- Maintain the accuracy of the legal entity structure and reporting for the company, including all applicable intercompany transactions and reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
- Establish and coordinate the quarterly external reporting schedules and overall coordination responsibility for the annual year-end audit by external auditors and quarterly reviews, if applicable.
- Drive and project manage foundational Controllership projects, such as establishing and maintaining worldwide standardized accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Consider Operating Company perspectives and feedback when developing the policies.
- Participate in and lead ad hoc financial analysis projects and special projects as needed.
- Provide appropriate analytical support required to functional leaders of the organization as required or requested.
- Other duties, including managing projects fundamental to the overall Controllership strategy, may be assigned.
Education
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent from a college or university in Finance or Accounting; and a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CPA designation required and MBA preferred.
Skills/Experience
- Working knowledge of JDE and Hyperion Financial Manager preferred
- Public accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility required
- Corporate accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility preferred
- Proven history of planning, project management, and organizational skills required.
Travel
Employee must be able to travel 10 % of the time.
