Position Summary
Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Print and read work orders to distribute daily delivery routes
- Move caskets and other product to stage daily delivery routes
- Load and unload freight trailers
- Inspect caskets to ensure they meet Company standards prior to shipment
- Perform minor repairs of caskets
- Drive straight truck on Company premises and back into dock
- Perform general building and warehouse maintenance including but not limited to painting, sweeping the floor, etc.
- Enter orders and print manifests
- Other duties may be assigned
Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Skills
- Ability to operate forklift
- Ability to operate a manual transmission preferred
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including any days, shift, and weekends to ensure that the customer demand is met
- Ability to lift 150 pounds from floor to waist and 20 pounds above the shoulders
- Ability to push caskets up to 300 lbs on a shelf (approximately 90 pounds of force required) onto and off of a lift gate
- Ability to lower a casket from the standing (upright) position onto the bed of a roll loader. This could be up to 70 pounds of weight
- Ability to lift miscellaneous equipment and product weighing up to 60 pounds
Experience
- Forklift experience
- Computer experience
- 1-3 months related experience
