Position Summary
The Manager of Quality Assurance will manage the QA for Batesville Technology Solutions software applications and 2nd Level Support department, responsible for the overall Quality and Project Management of Batesville Technology Solutions software applications. They will additionally manage the functional and end user documentation for the technology applications and second Level Customer Support Management for various products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Manages the QA/2nd Level Support department for the Batesville internal and external applications.
- Directly supervises quality assurance engineers and testers including the preparation and delivery of staff performance evaluations and career development activities.
- Manages the planning and execution of product testing efforts, including all associated resources to meet committed delivery dates. Anticipates program release problems and takes corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve commitments. Manages and responds to software quality assurance issues with related groups such as development, database, integration, and customer support.
- Works with Product Owners and Project Managers to develop project schedules and resource allocation models for QA related projects and other activities such as software deployment, customer integration, and professional services validation.
- Liaison with 3rd Level Support (Development) Regarding Unresolved Support Issues
- Oversee Application Documentation and Maintenance and Documentation Projects
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees and contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance to the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education
Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or Computer Programming; a minimum of 5 – 7 years related Web/Software Development experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/Experience
Preferred skills:
- System administration understanding and management
- Programming and design on one or more application platforms
- Technical issue resolution
Preferred experience:
- Application and/or web development
- 3rd-party hosting experience
- Prior leadership experience
Travel
Employee must be able to travel 10% of the time.
