As an Application Engineer for Hillenbrand, you’ll use your application development and problem-solving capabilities to partner with our business divisions and create solutions that propel our enterprise forward. Our Enterprise Application Engineers provide and support the IT equipment and services our business divisions need and enhance information security and processes throughout our organization. This requires excellent communication skills and a high degree of technical aptitude over a large scope of IT software, hardware, and networking disciplines.
Essential duties and responsibilities also include:
• Develops software solutions by studying requirements analysis and information needs
• Acting as technical lead on small to medium size projects 0-5 months in length
• studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes
• performs software design using software development fundamentals and processes, debug, test, and deploy software solutions
• Creating process documentation in assigned technical area
• conferring with stakeholders and IT Management
• Troubleshooting and providing internal customer support (occasionally after hours)

Education
• Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in computer science or related degree; and a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in information technology.
Skills/Experience
• 5+ years’ IT Support experience supporting business to successfully deliver technical projects
• Good application development skills with enterprise systems such as SharePoint, Hyperion, SAP, Business Intelligence, etc.
• Intermediate level architecture experience preferred
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. This includes the ability to explain technical terminology to non-technical end users.
Travel
Employee must be able to travel 5% of the time.
