Position Summary
Responsible for managing and directing the activities of the application development team, ensuring the appropriate use and delivery of technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the company’s operations while enabling new ways of doing business.  Responsible for developing business relationships within the organization, partnering on the implementation of their strategic initiatives and supporting the business teams and users of all company applications. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
  • Act as business liaison to create/execute team strategy, vision, and application roadmap aligning future state business process and technology across all platforms
  • Manage the portfolio by partnering with the business to proactively identify, justify and prioritize future initiatives
  • Manage team resources for all projects within the portfolio while providing proactive and innovative solution consultation on the initiation, requirements, design and communication of a project
  • Lead and/or oversee small to large functional projects using the system development life cycle (SDLC) and portfolio management toolset across all BIS platforms
  • Oversee completion and compliance of incidents, changes and problem management for all production support and sustaining activities; meet established SLA’s; ensure root cause/countermeasure analysis has been completed for all problems
  • Drive leadership focus, trend analysis, elimination of waste and risk mitigation (e.g. SOX) across all BIS platforms through monthly policy deployment, glass walls, and annual IT audits
  • Govern and establish best practices across BIS platforms (e.g. platform architecture and system coding standards)
  • Manage all aspects of third party vendor relationships including application roadmaps, support and cost/licensing
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance to the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct and applicable laws.  

 

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

Travel

Employee must be able to travel 10% of the time.

Education
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field; and at least 5 years (10 preferred) related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in Application Development.
 
Skills/Experience:
Skills/Experience Required:
  • Advanced understanding of at least one BIS platform (e.g. ERP, Web Development, Business Intelligence, CRM)
  • Intermediate experience effectively communicating technical concepts to all levels within the organization
  • Intermediate experience with change/incident/problem management concepts
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft office
  • Intermediate experience with system development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Intermediate project management experience
  • Intermediate understanding of programming concepts, database/architecture, ERP
  • Basic knowledge of LAN/WAN, server and PC operating systems
Skills/Experience Preferred:
  • Advanced understanding of multiple BIS platforms (e.g. JDE, Oracle Sales Cloud, Cognos, .Net)
  • Direct or indirect experience with leading teams
